Apple recently released iTunes 8.2.1 and in doing so broke the ability to sync with the Palm Pre. The Pre was spoofing an iPod Nano MP3 player, thus allowing the Pre to sync. This no longer works. Perhaps Palm will have a counter move.
by a backdrop at the Tony awards. Let the hilarity ensue.
If you visit this site often, you may have noticed that the humongous, in-your-face-but-rarely-updated comic is missing from the front page. We’re doing this on purpose so that we can bring you content more often just in case the comic doesn’t quite get updated as often as I would like. But never fear, faithful reader, the comics are still here. We’re adopting a format that separates the blog posts and the comic posts better, and it *should* make the site easier to navigate.
If you’re muttering to yourself “Gee that’s swell that you’re doing that, but how do I find latest $%^#(^($ comic?”, the latest and greatest comic will always be at http://www.phasetoground.com/comics/ or by clicking on the link at the top of the page.
With season 2 in post production, I figured it would be a good time to refresh the memory of those that have seen it and hopefully expose a few more people to this hilarious web-series:
We’re adding two new categories to the site (fine, you don’t care, but bear with me)
Internet Phenomena and Free Software
After having to introduce one friend to Cheezburgers and another to Chocolate Rain, I realized that not everyone is a huge internet dork. Therefore, I am taking it upon myself to educate those who have been unfortunately insulated from the awesomeness that are internet memes.
From time to time I stumble upon free software programs that are incredibly useful and generally retain 90% of the functionality of the program that they seek to replace. I’m mainly focusing on windows-based programs (Windows is the only program that isn’t open source on my computer, other than games of course). I had a single post about it a while back, but I decided that this would make it easier to find.
By the way, if you find something that would fall into either of these categories, send it my way! dana [@] phasetoground [dot] com
You may or may not have noticed, but I took down the characters section. I know, I know, it was starting to become a real webcomic, with dimensional characters and story arcs! But you see, that was the problem. I didn’t really have a set direction and I suck at telling stories, as many of you probably already know.
Therefore I’m going to go back to my roots and put up random comics. I’m also not going to focus on just technology, as I’m too much of a generalist to be good at focusing on any one thing well. I prefer to post on a wide variety of topics that I claim to have some knowledge about. I suppose that’s what I’ve been doing all along, but now I no longer feel guilty about it.
I may end up eating my words at some point in the future, but that’s the beauty of it all, I’m free to change the direction of this site, and come back and edit this post in the future to fit my current heading. Hey, it worked for Obama.
…just sayin’
Got bored and made some so that I don’t have to keep telling my friends, hey I made a webcomic, but you’re not going to remember the domain name!
